Our Mission

NoSchoolViolence.org is a Seattle-based research, data driven and AI solutions non-profit. Its long-term mission is to translate existing, fragmented, and underused databases into resource rich content to develop easy-to-use insightapps that asssist parents and schools in real-time recognition of significant patterns preceding 90% of school shootings. Our goal is help communities help every child live the healthiest and most academic fulfilling life possible.

 Our Values

Our NoSchoolViolence has four core values – Compassion, Collaboration, Equity and Innovation. We show compassion by being kind and caring to each other and to our users. We show excellence by trying to be best at what we do. We show equity by being open and embracing the uniqueness of others, and we innovative because there is no other national school violence organization that's trying to maximize the power of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning and other new technologies to get a better understanding of the nature and causes of school violence.

Our Vision

Although school violence is a public health issue, there are no easy-to use website tools that empower parents and schools to respond before violence begins. Funding more armed school guards and surveillance devices is not a solution. Recognizing pre-violent behaviors is. We can wait powerlessly for the next school shooting, or we can work together to interrupt violence before it escalates. Every school shooting in America began with a series of minor events before becoming another national tragedy.

Reducing school violence requires two elements: a national database and a website. At present, parents, teachers, school administrators, school psychologists, safety resource officers, researchers and school boards have no access to a website that translates vast amounts of currently inaccessible but highly valuable school violence data into effective solution tools. The need for school violence data and smart tools defines our project initiatives. We want to thank Alteryx, Microsoft, Ebay, Google, Benevity and Elastic for their support.
